Amsonia – Blue Ice: The bright green foliage of ‘Blue Ice’ turns a rich shade of yellow in the fall creating a new dimension of color for your fall landscape. ‘Blue Ice’ is adaptable to most conditions, however if it is too shady they may topple over.
Astilbe – Radius: Astilbe ‘Radius’ blooms profusely in midsummer when the dark red flowers buds open to deep rose-red plumes that butterflies love. Radius is perfect for ‘lifting’ shady areas. Deadheading will not increase blooms, so leave the dried seed heads to provide late season interest.
Black-Eyed Susan – Early Bird Gold: This rudbeckia has the ability to bloom from early summer into mid-fall. ‘Black-Eyed Susan’ needs to be grown in full sun in somewhat moist soil conditions in a well-drained area. It is great in borders, for cut flowers or for naturalized areas. Rudbeckia attracts butterflies, provides food for birds in the winter and is mildew-resistant.
